The balance of Wisdom
By::Krys Sakwanomtewa Al-Shalaldeh
We pretend we know balance, but what is balance when the word balance has gone out of balance. Ok, let me re-phrase… To achieve balance, one must attain oneness. But what is “oneness”. Many spiritual practices like Buddhism, Hinduism, Native American, Shamanism, Kung-Fu, etc. teach that in order to “see” clearly and make that internal connection with the “Self”, that seemingly allows us to tap into very powerful and amazing hidden parts of ourselves, all comes from attaining “BALANCE”.
So what is the human affliction that disallows us from doing this on a day to day basis, so that we may all perhaps “tune in” and tap in to this powerful part of ourselves and thereby live in bliss… Well I have a suspicion that turned into a theory, and is developing now into a philosophy…
BALANCE, on its own, as a word means very little or rather, is very vague. In my research I have come across many curious stories. Stories of texts of old, and stories told by folks of today. I have studied history and our grand mistakes in humanity. I have lived the personal plight of hardships attracted to both wealth and poverty. And from all this I see the following:
That we as humans have the need to “omit”, “sanitize”, “correct” history. Why? They say that History is written by the victors, that is to say by the ones that “Won.” Whatever that means… so can we not trust a single word in our history books, and should we just give up and become sarcastic, non-believing, individuals, more self-absorbed in poplar “culture” (in living it or controlling it) like the majority of the populous on this terra-sphere (earth)? Or should we instead be seekers of the “truth” and “knowledge, in order to obtain true “Wisdom”? Can we learn what we can from the pages of history as it has been written, and then become detectives to get to the truth? Is that not what the internet has become today? A hefty repository for knowledge, opinions, thesis, experiences, and now even REAL wisdom found within its walls… But what is repository good for if it is like the noise of a million bees buzzing all at once. Like a needle in a hay stack.
Wisdom is like magic, it always comes at a price. Wisdom is NOTknowledge, but rather the understanding of it through more than just words on a page, in a video, or in the air. Through LIVING, experiencing, experimenting, and of course making mistakes along the way, is the only way. So long as we “learn” from those mistakes as well.
But therein lies the catch: Does the one that has learned on the street, self-taught, by being beaten down in life, opportunities taken away, mistakes committed along the way teach you to surely avoid them in the future, presume themselves “Wise”? Or is it the “learned” person, the one with a teacher, a master, a guide, never knowing themselves the pain of living, only understanding “others” interpretations of it. The person that understands that knowledge, a “seeker” of sorts, is that person the one that deserves to be called wise then?
How about neither?
Wisdom is like a rainbow on a snowy day, or in a day when there is nothing but fog. It is a majestic force that appears and disappears, just like that, at will. It is what some call an “Epiphany”, a breakthrough, a vision, a moment, whether brief or long, but a moment somehow “connected” to that innate state of being within all of us, that everyone says will connect us to the divine. It is only then, through the act of the combination of both scenarios that we may gather, and open to “Sophia” (Wisdom in Greek).
Wisdom then, is only appreciated and well used by those whom choose to “give-in” and “submit” themselves to the crazy idea that it is only through making a commitment to the divine that one will truly become wise. This argument however, should not be taken as, or imply, that a simple “Righteous” or “Pious” person has an automatic “unlimited” pass to wisdom. Simply going through the actions, movements, words, customs of various faiths, whether we pray extra, out-loud or silent it does not make that person righteous or pious. Rather, see with your heart and feel with your spirit. This is what our Greek philosophy forefathers referred to as Gnosis. Or “True State of Being.”
Wisdom. Sophia is the lady of the truths of not only human kind, but all kind in our universe, as we could never conceive. Therefore the wisdom seekers of old, of all kinds, from all places on this humble place we call home, Earth, whether it be in the north, the south the east, or the west… in the mountains, above or below them, have “seen” this, and become a slave to the cause even. The cause of seeking Wisdom, and therefore BALANCE. For Sophia reveals herself not just to anyone , but only to those whom are worthy, those who seek the truth of being, not the altered reality we chose to call the truth of these days we live in now.
Jesus, The prophet Mohammed (pbuh), The Buddha, Suleiman (Salomon son of David), and more recently in history Leonardo DaVincci, Benjamin Franklin, Nicola Tesla, Thomas Jefferson all seemed to have obtained some wisdom by the practice of a combination of both methods mentioned before. For the most part we are all always only students for most of our life, and become masters maybe never. But every once in a while, the heavens open up and send us a “master in disguise”, helping us as a humanity to move forward and not give in to the easiness of becoming complacent or comfortable with the illusion presented as life to us. This master comes with a “Divine Download” if you will, to use more modern terms.
These are not the “Indigo” children or any other term people are using now, for we are all a starlight projects, we are made of stardust, we are our creator’s creation, and within us all there is an “indigo” waiting to emerge, and wake up. Those that will reject the holographic society and way of life, and instead choose to serve only one purpose… The betterment of all above their own. Because of mandate from the heavens, the divine, our creator. The one that still fears, respects, and most of all can “understand” the creation gift, the truth that belongs to all of us, not just some of us.
Countless men and women in history have been said to be inspired though divine providence (mandate), but it is only these results that reverberate (echo) though the ages that we count. There is only “One” Creator of ALL, an energy that is so pure, that is beyond anything that the human brain can even pretend to understand. But in this grandness, it is also simple, it is BALANCE, Yin and Yang, Ja and Shekinah… as without one, the other cannot exist. It is the one source, from which we all carry a seed. As above, so below. Father Sky and the Earth Mother. Companions of eternity, materialized. They were born together and so shall be the end, when the time comes. It will be together that they shall remain. In creation, and in destruction. Balance. Through good times and bad times. This is Wisdom.
The divine mandate (orders) is that we have been left in “charge of” as CARETAKERS, not just TAKERS, or owners. Big difference.
Just as we cannot choose our family through blood, for the choices that come before we are born and exist were never our own, but instead belonged to those whom came before us. Our own blood betrays us sometimes even, though the saying goes ‘blood is thicker than water’, it doesn’t necessarily have to refer to those immediately “blood related”, but rather the human blood that runs through all our veins as a race. The human race. We are all brothers and sisters in the end. I choose to believe in the gnosis of “by you roots I shall know who you are.” Sometimes what seems to be a perfect stranger might come to share more of a true connection with you, for however brief and fleeting the moment might be, it existed. It happened. That is the meaning of family, the sense that you are somehow connected to everyone, no one, and someone at the same time. Weird huh?
Free will exists, so that we use our own and individual way of delivering this divine mandate. In Hopi we call this Hita’nangwa, it means to take initiative to take care of something without being asked, instructed, or reminded. Your choices of how you accomplish this are your own. Does that make sense? We were not granted guardianship over this existence to seek wisdom in order to use and abuse it, or hide it from others and conceal what “we” feel should not be known by others “For knowledge is power” they say is it not? By definition that is the very meaning of corruption, and it grows like a cancer that will not stop until it fully consumes itself, like a fire started by just a spark.
As a person, as a human being, that feels like they have never really been in control of their own destiny, I am a slave to my path, the path as a seeker of wisdom. But my purposes and reasons do not lie in servitude to myself, jealousy, petty revenges, or even aspirations of grandness or corruption. Rather I choose to remain small in pride, and rather in service to the Divine Plan. As a servant, I have been given much, like the opportunity to bear fruit to creation, and bring more than my share of children into this world, after I had been told my womb was barren, cold, and unable. However much has been taken from me as well, all high prices paid in blood, sweat and tears along the way. I am only human. Mistakes… I have made many in my ignorance, and yet always t the 11th hour (at the last minute), I am humbled and brought to my knees at the importance of my path.
I feel like my whole life has been a cross-roads, a point with many roads leading to so many different ways, distractions maybe, or maybe destinations with lessons along the way, but one thing is true… that upon much contemplation it has given me much clarity. I am not a self-righteous woman, although maybe in the past I might have been. I felt the warmth of the sunrise this morning on my face, even while the wind was chilly. And I had complete clarity. I only do what I feel guided to do at that moment. I myself have rejected my many gifts and I have denied my knowledge for fear of being exploited, I stopped searching for any knowledge or wisdom, and yet here is our lady beckoning at my door, giving me wisdom whether I “like it or not”. How can I not listen to the wisdom? How disrespectful would that be? I have at many points of my life reached a “point-of-no return.” Death. And more than once, this frail body, aged twice my physical age on this earth, has been denied to remain dead. I see it clearly now, because my duties have not been fulfilled yet.
And so, not as an explanation to defend any words or actions, not as an excuse for my human behavior, or misbehavior at times do I say this. Not out of corruption to “withhold” Wisdom and Knowledge revealed to me by other master, both divine and human, but rather for lack of “The Right Time”, and in big part due to lack of my understanding… The Balance of Wisdom had left me, until I had reached a moment in time specific to the plan.
And now it is time…
